The main house, with its newly completed timber structure, is
in classic Haiku style and designed to “allow man and
nature to live in mutual respect”. Like Fisherman’s
Lodge, the house sits gently on the land and is reliant on
natural air flows for cooling. It reflects grace, simplicity
and restraint. The accommodation in the main house consists of three
high standard apartments which can be rented separately or
combined for larger groups or families. Each apartment, and
Fisherman’s Lodge, have open spacious living areas and
comfortable seating for both dining and relaxing. The
dividing walls and floors between the apartments are well soundproofed to
ensure privacy and tranquillity. Several mango trees fringe the
property with banana palms and bamboo below. The are
there for guests to enjoy when in season. We recently
created a wooden
viewing deck from rainforest timber among the
trees below Fisherman’s Lodge. This offers wonderful views
to the West and all our guests are invited to share its use.
We would mention to readers that our apartments are
located on a hillside, overlooking the beach. Access to the
apartments involves
a 75 yard walk up a grass track. As a result, our
accommodations may not be suitable for those with walking
difficulties or who easily get out of breath. The photographs
on the website give a good impression of the
daily walk up the hill from the beach.
